Now, this is not going to be an easy undertaking for me as I am not the most artistically inclined person. My idea of integrating the arts revolves around digital storytelling. Storyboarding, script writing, working on camera angles, theses are the things I know and love. I may not be the best at it, but at least I feel comfortable teaching my students the "ropes." I guess I will be expanding my horizons.
To help those of us who don't have that magic arts touch the TN Arts Commission sponsors a week long professional development workshop. Schools from across the state met at The Renaissance Center in Dickson, TN. There we learned the fine arts of making recycled jewelry, paper making, acting, script writing, dancing, and so much more. You can learn more about the program here.
Check out some of the fun we had!

The longest journey begins with the first step. The best blog starts with the first entry. You are on your way.
Good for you, Teryl! Sounds like an exciting adventure...I think anytime you grow and develop, it's a plus! The arts integration opportunities are vast and enriching! Will look forward to hearing more!
It is wonderful that you are starting this blog. I read recently on an edublogs post that "it is an educators responsibility to inform the public about what is happening in education" and communicating this via a blog is a fantastic way to do it. Nice job! I hope that you will continue.

Congrats on the position at the new school. With all your experience with digital media, you will be a great asset to the students and teachers! It was nice to meet and work with you last week at the DEN NI.
Welcome to the blogoshpere! You will definitely be a great addition. I am adding you to my reader. Your new job sounds fun and challenging. Enjoy!
Teryl,
Love the artistic-looking black background. See you are already well on your way to capturing the essence of art and tech integration. Good luck with all the new things this year.

This is a great start to a wonderful addition to the edublogoshere. Good luck with your new position. I think that your ideas on digital storytelling sound so fun. The students will learn a great deal. Best of luck for a successful school year.
Welcome and thanks for your post! I think using multimedia and digital technologies will help the art students showcase and create work in whole new ways. You'll be giving them access to the world rather than limiting them to a school or local gallery.
Good Luck in your new position. I am sure you will do well. Way to go on writing the blog, this will be a good way to track your classroom activities.
Hey, girl...great job! I know I need to get in gear and get mine started. You have inspired me! Good luck this year in your new classroom.
